Duarte Dance Works (DDW) artistic and educational mission is to perform in both traditional and non-traditional venues, and to collaborate with multiple artists and organizations. In addition to educational programs, DDW intends to serve the communities by providing public performances of various forms of contemporary dance.
Art and education are an endless process of sharing. Collaboration in all levels is key. This collaboration, this interplay between art and education, is what feeds and sustains the artist in me. The roles of artist and educator are intricately and beautifully intertwined. The creation of Duarte Dance Works allows me to bring my philosophy to both artists and audiences. With DDW I want to heighten cultural appreciation in contemporary Dance.
